The simple purpose of this podcast is to help you get things done every day so that you can accomplish something worthwhile with your life. Genesis 2:15 says: "And the Lord God took the man, and put him into the garden of Eden to dress it and to keep it." Our quote for today is from Charles J. Givens. He said: "Success requires first expending ten units of effort to produce one unit of results. Your momentum will then produce ten units of results with each unit of effort." Today, in the Get Things Done podcast we are looking at Part 2 of Step 10: "Consider Deliberate Delay." Q: Hannibal is supposed to have been one of the great military geniuses of all time. What prevented him from marching on to Rome after the Cannae victory, and capturing it to become the ruler of the known world? A: Procrastination. Of course, Hannibal gave himself a lot of good reasons for not following up on his victory: his troops were battle-weary, winter was approaching, he needed siege boats, he had reason to believe that several of Rome's allies might desert Rome and join him, and so on. But, later, he is said to have admitted that he made a great mistake in not striking promptly, exploiting the disarray of the Romans. If he had done so, the history of the world would have been quite different. ...
