Biography:
Deacon Matthew Newsome is a deacon in the Diocese of Charlotte, NC. He has served as the Catholic campus minister for the students at Western Carolina University since 2008. He is a convert to the Catholic Church, being baptized at the age of 23. He and his wife, Joannie, have seven children and live in the mountains of North Carolina on a little spot of land they share with a handful of sheep and chickens and one ornery donkey. He writes regularly for the Catholic News Herald and has just published his first book, The Devout Life: A Modern Guide to Practical Holiness with St. Francis de Sales.
