3. Blind Spots in White America: Lauren's Story
Manage episode 318218085 series 3306911
In this episode, Lauren details her experience being raised in a part of the country still largely segregated. Though that segregation might not be written into law any longer, it certainly adds to the reality that few people are challenged to think outside of their own world. This led to serious blind spots that made themselves known in conversations about race throughout Lauren's childhood.
While Lauren's experience isn't every White person's in America, we hope that if you can relate to some of these stories, you will consider what blind spots may still exist in your own heart and mind. Recognizing our own areas of weakness is the first step to strengthening our fight against racism in America.
