BIBLE STUDY| MIRACLES OF JESUS FOURTH MIRACLE OF JESUS pt.14 | THE FEEDING OF 5,000 MEN WITH 5 LOAVES OF BREAD AND 2 FISHES| CHIMDI OHAHUNA. Mark 6:31-34. We are still in the study of the fourth miracle of Jesus, the miracle of feeding of the 5000 as rendered by John chapter 6. In this study, we continue to study the limitations of the Philip mentality. In the realm of faith, many believers have been accustomed to the 'Philip mentality,' where they rely on intermediaries to communicate with Jesus on their behalf. However, the New Testament reveals a profound truth that empowers us to directly and boldly approach Abba Father for mercy and divine guidance. Under the New Testament, there is only one mediator between God and man: God Himself (1 Timothy 2:5). Jesus Christ, our Savior, has become our direct pathway to the throne of grace. Therefore, the need for human intermediaries (such as 'Andrews') becomes redundant. Regardless of our indecisiveness, we can confidently present our concerns to the Lord through prayer. The ability to make wise decisions stems from a vibrant prayer life that connects us to the source of all wisdom and guidance. The Book of Jude 1 vs 20, admonishes that we 'build ourselves up on our most holy faith, praying in the Holy Spirit.' This verse emphasizes the importance of establishing a personal relationship with God through prayer. We must not hesitate to approach Him directly, accessing the throne of grace ourselves. The concept of replacement ideology, where one seeks to supplant others, has no place in the Christian faith. It began with Eve's attempt to replace Abel with Seth. This ideology oftentimes breeds strife and conflict. In the biblical narrative, it is often the seventh man who triumphs over adversity. From Genesis 32:26-28 to 1 Chronicles 14:9-10, we see the pattern of the seventh man emerging victorious. This signifies the power of perseverance and the need to fight our battles with a spirit of determination. In the Torah, horses represents strength, courage, and beauty. The Philip in the New Testament, whose name means 'lover of horses,' embodies these qualities. We believe Philip trusted in his analytical and psychological strength, courage and beauty and that continued to weaken his faith; also, it implies that Philip had spiritual strength, courage, and beauty which were dormant until he was empowered via the words of Christ. True knowledge of God goes beyond mere intellectual understanding. It involves a deep desire to encounter His presence, both manifested and indwelling. By seeking to know God personally, we open ourselves to the fullness of His grace and guidance (Philippians 3:10). In conclusion, the New Testament empowers us to boldly approach Abba Father for mercy, divine guidance, and the strength to overcome adversity. Let us cast away the Philip mentality and embrace the direct pathway to grace and transformation through prayer and a personal relationship with God.
