Möt Londonbaserade konstnären Paul Maheke, som var på plats hos oss i oktober 2018, som en del av researchen inför kommande konstprojekt nästa år. Hans praktik har en stark performativ karaktär då han ofta själv sätter sin kropp i rörelse eller arbetar med dansare. Maheke medverkar i Manifesta i Palermo 2018 och har tidigare gjort utställningar på Palais de Tokyo, Tate Modern och Venedigbiennalen. I samtalet pratar Grafikens Hus curator Ulrika Flink med Paul Maheke och frilanscuratorn Rado Istok om grafikens närvaro i Mahekes konstpraktik samt om den svarta kroppens potential som ett arkiv för att bearbeta historia, minne och identitet. Meet London-based artist Paul Maheke, he was visiting us during october 2018, as part of his research for an upcoming artproject next year. His art practice has a strong performative character and he often puts his own body in motion or works with dancers. Maheke participated in Manifesta in Palermo 2018 and has previously exhibited at Palais de Tokyo, Tate Modern and the Venice biennale. In the conversation, Grafikens Hus curator Ulrika Flink talks with Paul Maheke and freelance curator Rado Istok about the presence of printmaking in Maheke's art practice and on the black body's potential as an archive to process history, memory and identity.
