AST SpaceMobile (NASDAQ: ASTS), the company building the first space-based cellular broadband network, and AT&T have entered into a definitive commercial agreement to establish their first space-based broadband network directly to everyday cell phones. This partnership, extending until 2030, marks a significant milestone in their collaboration, which began in 2018.

This summer, AST SpaceMobile plans to launch its first commercial satellites from Cape Canaveral into low Earth orbit. The five communication satellites will enable the first voice call, text, and video call from space, between everyday smartphones. The deployment of these satellites aims to eliminate outdoor dead zones by providing comprehensive two-way connectivity through a satellite solution.

Abel Avellan, AST SpaceMobile Founder, Chairman, and CEO stated: "We are thrilled to solidify our collaboration through this landmark agreement. We aim to bring seamless, reliable service to consumers and businesses across the continental U.S., transforming the way people connect and access information."

AST SpaceMobile is building the first and only global cellular broadband network in space to operate directly with standard, unmodified mobile devices.
