John Edwards earned the nickname Johnny Montana for his gritty play, solid leadership and exceptional ability to win. Edwards threw for more than 6,000 yards and 46 touchdowns in his Griz career but it was his ability to rise to the occasion when the Griz needed him that most remember. The Griz went 48-9 during Edwards' four years on campus, including 27-4 with him as the starter.

The Billings West product was a junior quarterback on Montana's 2001 national championship team.
