On this episode of the podcast I am talking with Brad Thomas, a veteran of the 75th Ranger Regiment and Delta Force. Brad served in the Battle of Mogadishu, made famous by the book and movie Black Hawk Down, and later did several deployments with Delta in the Global War on Terror.

Growing up on the East Coast playing guitar, Brad thought that his original path would be music. But like many young adults, he ended up joining the Army to pursue a high adrenaline job (he even told the recruiter flat out that he wanted to try out for Delta). Brad would eventually get what he wanted and joined Delta. And he eventually would get to pursue his other passion: music, with his band Silence and Light.

On the episode Brad talks about his upbringing, the difference in kids back in the day versus the kids today, his time in the Army (including, of course, the Battle of Mogadishu, where he actually witnessed the “This is my safety” incident), and he talks about his band, Silence and Light. Brad is intelligent, clear, and super interesting to listen to.
