Sometimes the best way to look ahead is to look where you just came from

Thank you for calling GIH where we instigate growth one call at a time where we utilize antiquated technology to deliver 3-minute leadership lessons every week day! This is message #160 and I am Aaron Havens.

For many of you, this is Fri-Yay!
Most people listening are already starting to get your weekend warrior face on.
Good for you. Some of you might have weekend gigs and are just mid way through your week. Keep going. You’ve got this.

Let’s pretend for a minute that we will all clock off in 5…4…3…2…1…! That right. We have two days off to do what we want to do. Crush some pizza, chug some Mountain Dew, watch unlimited Netflix… haha. Whatever it is, we are all looking forward to it. And after a much too short couple days off, we are now looking at another work week. As you’re getting dressed, as you’re putting on your shoes to do another week… does that excited you? Are you currently enjoying what it is you do? As we all clock back in in 5…4…3…2…1… are you smiling and ready to go? OR is it a dread!

Here’s a pro tip. Whatever the rhythm of you weeks are, one of the best ways to get a bit more excited about the future is to actually reflect on the past.

What, this past week did you crush?

What, this past week did you enjoy?

What, this past week motivated you?

What, this past week peaked your interest?

Where, this past week did you find yourself engaging and smiling?

When, this past week were you at your best.

Yeah. Looking back and reflect is a great way to get a bit more excited about the road ahead. Adjusting how we spend our calories this week in light of our reflection last week could prove to be an incredible exercise!

Thanks for calling in today. At the sound of the beep, please leave me a message. Where did you find yourself smiling and enjoying yourself this past week. AND, how can you make sure to repeat that again this next week?
