I’m not sure if you’re on a bus, in your car… just woke up, at the gym or maybe sipping on your morning coffee. What I can say, is that you’re in the right spot!

-“Thank you for calling GIH where we instigate growth one call at a time where we utilize antiquated technology to deliver 3-minute leadership lessons, every day of the week. This is message #52 and I am Aaron Havens.

When I coach public speaker I ask them how much their “talk” is worth.

Not necessarily how much they are asking for a per diem. Nah, that’s subjective. I want to know how much they think their talk is worth. How much time has it taken for the topic a maturate in them. How long has it taken their presenting skills to get to the levels they are at. And of course, how much TIME have they put into preparing. How much would they say their talk is worth?

Why is that important? Beyond hard currency, every public speaker is charging the same amount. Every public speaker gets paid the same. If you are speaking to 1 person for 1 minute… the crowd just paid 1 minute. If you’re speaking for 10 people for 1 minute the crowd just paid 10 minutes. So, if a speaker is speaking for 25 minutes to a crowd of 200 people… the communicator just asked for the crowd to spend 6,250 minutes. Time. Time is the great commodity that can’t be given back. Every time I speak in public I don’t take that lightly.

And so. Wherever you’re at… I am thankful for the 3 minutes you’re willing to spend today to listen to this message. I hope it strikes a chord with you. I hope this message inspires, ignites, instigates, spurs on, and encourages you. I aim to make these 3 minutes be just the charge you need to believe in yourself and charge the world.

I want to raise the bar for me and for you!

Capturing 3 minutes of your commute, or morning coffee, smoke break or heaven forbid time on the pot…. What an honor!

You’re in the right spot. You’ve called the right number. I don’t take that lightly and I am very much excited to spend more and more minutes as more and more people call into this hotline. Thank you… let’s get it!

Big take away:

Do you take what you do seriously?

Do you raise the stakes in your industry?

Do you let people play small around you?

Thanks for calling in today. Tune in tomorrow for a fresh new topic.

At the sounds of the beep let me know you’re in…

I’m in the right spot, and I’ll raise the bar!
