In this episode of Cyber Security Beyond Pentesting, we had Lt. Col (Dr) Santosh Khadsare joining us as a guest. He is a Speaker, Mentor, and Author of several Digital forensics books and articles. With over two and half decades of experience working in this field, he is the go-to person for all DFIR enthusiasts. Currently working as a VP of Digital Forensics and Incident Response at eSec Forte Technologies.
We discussed several things including What is Digital Forensics, How it is one of those very interesting fields to be in Cyber Security Domain, the Perks of working in the Public sector specifically in the Armed Forces, the Importance of Internships, Practical experience, and what role does Academia play in nurturing next generations of Digital Forensics Analyst and Scientist. We also touched upon the importance of Mentorship and How one can not fall into the traps of Paid Internships.
While fields like AI and Blockchain are constantly growing, we discussed how they can act as both a friend and foe to the Investigation, from tackling DeepFake Crimes to creating technologies for Chain of Custody using Blockchain, all things covered.
Lastly, we touched upon the importance of keeping your Work-Life balance, focusing on your Mental Health and how can a youngster beat symptoms like Imposter Syndrome or be Stress-free.
