The other day, someone asked me what’s a classic American food. The beloved hotdog is the first thing that comes to mind. Whether you get one from a street vendor with mustard, or grill one at home with your favorite toppings, the hot dog is the quintessential American food.
In episode 734, we looked at summers in the USA. And if there is one food that reminds me of summer it’s a hot dog. Hot dogs go with summer like peanut butter goes with jelly. And I think it’s safe to say that the hot dog is one of the most classic foods in the United States, especially during summer. Whether you're at a baseball game, a family barbecue, or a 4th of July picnic, you're likely to find hot dogs being served. This simple yet satisfying food has a rich history and a beloved place in American culture.
