Dr. Lance Evans is the superintendent of the New Albany School District. Late in 2023, Dr. Evans was hired by the Mississippi Department of Education to become Superintendent of Schools for the state of Mississippi. In the state of Mississippi, must not only be hired by MDE but must also be approved by the legislature. If approved, Dr. Evans will assume command of the department on July 1. Melinda sat down with Dr. Evans to discuss his successes in New Albany and his plans for Mississippi's schools. Part 1 of this interview was released March 5.
