Happy to offer up an Oct. 17, 1942 excellent rebroadcast of "National Barn Dance" from the Civic Theatre in Chicago, IL via WLS AM radio and the NBC network. Joe Kelly is the host. Guests appearing include: Lulu Belle and Scotty, Eddie Peabody - The Banjo King, Orville Tucker, The Dinning SIsters (Ginger, Jean and Lou), The Honey Bees (Verne, Lee, and Mary), comedian Pat Buttram. Theme song is "Hail, Hail, the Gang's All Here" - Sponsors: Alka Seltzer and One-a-Day Vitamins - Also some WW II spots reminding people to contribute to Scrap Metal collections for the war effort. Lots of good music, harmony, banjo playing, and "tooting" by the Hoosier Hotshots. More Country music in my "Country-Western Music" Playlist!
