Intro to the program gives background on the life and career of Walter Tetley. The track is the audition track of what they hoped would lead to Tetley's own radio network series, but it was not picked up. In "The Kid on the Block" Tetley plays a wisecracking newsboy. It was 1948 and President Truman was in for the political fight of his life... so some of the humor is built around the politics that was happening at the time. By the way, Tetley was 33 at the time this show was recorded. It will be in the "Comedy" Playlist on this podcast.
