This week on the High Wire Woman podcast, Rosanna Berardi is talking about writing. Her guest, Javacia Harris Bowser, is a blogger, freelance writer and a writing coach. Javacia is the Founder of See Jane Write, a company that helps women become ‘the authors of their lives’ through writing, blogging, and entrepreneurship. She joins Rosanna on this episode to talk about how High Wire Women can use blogging to improve their writing skills.

You'll hear Rosanna and Javacia talk about:

  1. How Javacia first started writing.
  2. See Jane Write was started in a Mexican restaurant and has since grown due to the many meetups and workshops Javacia has hosted.
  3. The ways High Wire Women can get connected to See Jane Write.
  4. Blogging is important for writers in two ways: marketing, and practice. It’s a great way for writers to get their name out there, and it also helps them get in the habit of writing every day.
  5. A good way to find something to blog about, Javacia advises, is finding the intersection between something you’re passionate about, and something people consider you an expert in. There will be many blogs passionate about the same thing you’re passionate about but your own perspective and story is what’s going to set you apart.
  6. To stay focused on writing in this noisy world, remind yourself of why you’re writing. Telling another person that you are writing will keep you motivated.
  7. Where High Wire Women can go to find more information about writing, and writing tips.

Writing is a great way to stay in the moment in our busy lives. It slows things down and helps us to appreciate every moment as it happens and improving those skills can help us not only in the business world, but in our personal lives too.
