#108 Success as a Leader

After coaching over three thousand people, Bobbi Kahler has learned several principles that leaders can follow to be more successful. She is a writer, podcaster, entrepreneur, and coach. She has a Masters in Organizational Development and Change. She dives into six important principles to have success as a leader:
1. First and foremost, we need to know ourselves. This includes knowing your authentic self, understanding your own values, discerning how you make choices, and being aware of how you show up to others.
2. A leader needs to help others to know themselves, others on the team, and you as their leader.
3. Leaders need to be visionaries. Bobbi helps us explore how one can be a visionary that leads others to respond in positive ways.
4. Leaders need to live for the long haul, not the short haul. This involves; knowing the vision and staying connected to it, practicing self-care, having margins and strong boundaries, and practicing disciplines that bring you personal peace.
5. The effective leader understands her purpose in all she is doing.
6. Our host, Sue Corl adds the importance of having pure motivations.
