“I Believe in The Communion of Saints” Hebrews 12:1 “Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles, and let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us” In The Apostles’ Creed we affirm, “I believe in the communion of saints.” Because these words come near the end of the creed, we may tend to overlook them, but we shouldn’t because they teach us something important about the Christian church. Four major truths confront us as we consider what we mean when we say, “I believe in the communion of the saints.: 1. The Gospel is for everyone. 2. We have communion with Christ. 3. We have communion with the saints who are alive on earth. 4. We have communion with the saints in heaven.
