Cierto que hay mucho donde elegir, pero desde luego puedo afirmar con rotundidad que en los últimos 20 años no ha habido ninguna final que conjugue de manera tan sobresaliente tantos alicientes distintos. Es un verdadero homenaje al baloncesto de ataque presidido además por una emoción que no se resuelve de manera definitiva hasta el último suspiro del encuentro. Eran otros tiempos, en 1989 todavía la Recopa como competición gozaba de gran valor y prestigio, no existía aún la Liga Europea y por ello la calidad de los equipos que participaban en la actual Saporta era muy alta.
