We dig a little deeper into the cause of the Mexican American War and spend the first half of the episode discussing Texas and Mexico's history. We also expand on the United States' perceived right of Manifest Destiny and look at Mexico's leadership. The second half reviews how US citizens viewed the decision to go to war, a couple of early battles, an introduction to Marine Archibald Gillespie, and conclude with the Marines landing on Mexican soil.
