Manage episode 413594567 series 3527314
PLEASE excuse the audio on my side of the conversation.
This very educating interview with Nokukhanya explores her upbringing in a racially segragated South Africa- being bussed into white schools, the release of Nelson Mandela and suddenly moving to the UK to complete her high school education.
We discuss her career as a lawyer that took her across the African continent, from Zambia, Kenya, Sierra Leone, Uganda and eventually the United States where she now resides. We discuss the complexities of xenobophia, compare racism in America vs South Africa and the importance of forming a functional community.
