Once your teen becomes a dual-enrolled student or enrolled student, you’ll be shut out of the college communication loop entirely. The Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act of 1974 is a United States federal law that gives your student privacy protection as it relates to their educational records. FERPA intends to prevent your teen’s personal information from being shared with "outside parties" (a good thing) but parents are often shocked to learn that “outside parties” include legally homeschooling parents!
