Nate Garrett, founder of the American heavy metal band Spirit Adrift, went through years of a deadly addiction to alcohol and nearly died from it in 2015. With the love, help, and inspiration of his wife Nicole, he got sober and changed his whole life – and wrote several albums in the process. In this episode, he tells the story of how he and Nicole met, the conversation that led to him going to detox, and how their relationship has evolved now that he’s sober.
