Harry Romero is one of the biggest US DJs in the world and has produced some of the most enduring house music records of all time. Growing up in a musical household in New Jersey, Harry was into the freestyle rhythms of early electro when his life changed upon hearing the Todd Terry produced ‘Bango’. Inspired by this new sound, Harry would visit The Sound Factory Bar in New York to watch Louie Vega DJ and then return home to spend hours creating his own sounds in front of the sampler. Quickly gathering a reputation as a beat production maestro, Harry created his own label and released some house music classics that are still getting played out today. In this chat we discover how Harry’s dedication to his craft has got him to where he is, the behind the scenes story of the first time he played at the Ministry Of Sound and how the dance music scene has re-energised him in recent years.
