Hello friends! Simon Tam and Joe X from Asian-American, dance-rock band, The Slants are my guests for episode 1341! The Slants have just released their final album, The Band Plays On, featuring a guest performer on each track, including a guest vocalist on almost every song. These guests are comprised of prominent, as well as up-and-coming, artists from the Asian American community. While the band has called it quits, the spirit of The Slants lives on with "Slanted: Stories & Songs with Simon Tam and The Slants" a live story-telling and music performance show. Go to theslants.com for music, info on The Slants Foundation, live dates, and more. We have a great conversation about winning a U.S. Supreme Court case in 2017 to trademark their name (read about it HERE), their new music and story-telling show, The Slants Foundation, Guitars, their journey as a band and what's next for them, and much more. I had a great time getting to know these talented and thoughtful cats. I'm sure you will too. Let's get down!
