Juneteenth is the celebration of Freedom of enslaved persons of color in the United States. On June 19th 2021, Albany will be celebrating this history with an event that includes vendors, a reflection pool, a libations ceremony, a movie night, and more. Hudson Mohawk Magazine's Sina Basila Hickey spoke with Travon T. Jackson, Executive Director of the African American Cultural Center of the Capital Region, to learn more. The free Juneteenth celebration is taking place on Saturday June 19 on South Pearl Street from 12-5pm. For more information visit www.theaacccr.org
