Show Notes

In this week's episode of the Human-Centric Leadership Podcast, we are delighted to welcome Terra L. Fletcher, an award-winning entrepreneur, author, and consultant. With her extensive experience working with various businesses and leaders, Terra brings valuable insights and best practices on employee retention.

In today's show, Terra emphasizes the importance of focusing not only on acquiring new talent but also on nurturing and retaining the talent we already have.

Terra guides us in understanding and embracing different generational mindsets, helping us view them as an opportunity for growth rather than an obstacle. She enlightens us on the unique job needs and desires of different generations, encouraging us to adapt our approach accordingly.

Have you ever thought about using the "five languages of appreciation" to improve retention? Terra introduces us to this innovative concept, showing us how to express genuine appreciation to our employees.

Terra advocates for allowing employees to work in their zone of genius, which not only costs nothing but also fosters engagement and keeps work exciting and fresh.

Drawing from her book "Flex Your Communication: 47 Tips for Everyday Success at Work," Terra reminds us that learning how to give and receive feedback is a powerful way to connect with employees and engage with them meaningfully.
