Last year I got to meet Manu San Felix - Oceanographer and videographer for National Geographic.
Manu campaigns heavily for the one thing that may just save our climate in the Balearics - The Posidonia.
Our huge acres of sea grass provide a carbon sink which sucks the nasties out of our atmosphere and absorb and hold them.
Protecting them is of paramount importance as you heard in our EP with ambient musician @coco_francavilla. They are the answer to so many issues we face as an island that depends heavily on tourism and Manu runs @vellmari_formentera and every year they replant the beds and try to restore them where possible.
In this weeks episode we talk about that process, why we have to educate people to respect the ancient sea beds that are unique to ours seas and we hear much of his incredible storytelling on expeditions that he has been on for National Geographic as an ambassador for @natgeopristineseas and how he became a marine biologist and fell in love with our islands.
