Vision is an easy solution to solving literacy challenges and access to education. According to Ashley Mills, CEO of the Vision Council, vision is also involved in equity, safety, and employability. In order to increase engagement with these important aspects of vision, the Vision Council launched an Opening Your Eyes scholarship. Through this program, underserved students can find meaningful, lucrative careers in the optical industry. From fixing glass lenses to engaging in customer service, these experiences provide a logical entry point to get students involved in the vision care industry. This scholarship highlights just one example of how the Vision Council accelerates research and consumer awareness to promote growth in the optical industry.
