Colin C. Thompson, a Canadian born Jamaican, who was raised in the US but now calls China home, joins me to discuss his life and the cultural challenges he has faced as a black man living outside his native country. As one of only two black families in the US community he immigrated to at a young age, racism was all too real for Colin. Having overcome learning difficulties to graduate Howard University on a wrestling scholarship, Colin is not shy of a challenge which could be the reason that each year, on his birthday, he runs his age in miles!

Colin and I discuss racism, slavery and American politics and Colin explains what it’s like living in China during Covid. While we delve into some deep topics, there are plenty of laughs along the way. If you would like to know more about Colin you can follow him on LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram or Twitter, and you can read more at www.ifonlyyouknewpodcast.com.au
