Kenya NPS Seminar Leveraging the New Bottom-Up Economic Plan for Food System Transformation in Kenya Co-organized by IFPRI, CGIAR Initiative on National Policies and Strategies, and KIPPRA December 5, 2022 – 14:00 - 16:00 PM EAT The new Kenyan Government faces a complex domestic and global environment. It is expected to address these challenges with a new set of policies and programs as part of its most recent Bottom-Up Economic Plan, to which research-based evidence can contribute and support decision makers in the design and implementation process. To provide such research-based evidence, the Kenyan Institute for Public Policy Research and Analysis (KIPPRA) and the International Food Policy Research Institute (IFPRI) invite you to the second edition of the Kenya National Policies and Strategies (NPS) Seminar Series. This hybrid NPS seminar will take place on Monday, December 5, 14:00 – 16.00 EAT. The seminar will discuss results from an ongoing effort by KIPPRA and the CGIAR Initiative on National Policies and Strategies to quantify the expected impacts of implementing the Bottom-Up Economic Plan on key socio-economic outcomes such as the food system, jobs, poverty, inequality, and diets. To highlight the important links between the Bottom-Up Economic Plan and food system transformation in Kenya, the seminar will also present recommendations from a new NPS policy brief on “Transforming Food Systems in Kenya for a New Era of Growth and Prosperity”.
