This week, I sit down with Chris Copen of Bottle Rocket Social Hall. Bottle Rocket Social Hall is a indie arts venue/ bar that is unlike any place I’ve ever been. When you walk in, you go back in time to a place that looks like the 1970’s sports bar your Uncle had always dreamed about building in his basement. Chris Copen wanted to create a space that could be utilized for a variety of events but still have that unique feel to it. “The Best Show In Town, Six Nights A Week” is how Chris described Bottle Rocket and I think that’s the best way it’s been said. Each month, you’ll find a calendar packed full with all sorts of different events. Whether it’s a local band, Bad Movie Bingo, or a headlining comedian, you can always find something for you. This week, Chris and I talk about why he wanted to open a venue, the jobs he had previously that prepared him to run his own club, how he chose the location he did, and so much more.
