This week, ahead of several major commemorations of The Holocaust this weekend, we turn our attention to the evil of genocide, and its continuing prevalence in the world nearly eighty years since the fall of the Nazis. Ellen shares a touching story of Holocaust heroism and survival from her own family.

We also offer our regular update on news stories from around the world, suggesting where we might focus our intentions and prayers.

The International Day of Commemoration in Memory of the Victims of the Holocaust (UNESCO designated), Holocaust Remembrance Day (EU member state observed) and Holocaust Memorial Day (UK) all take place this year this Saturday, 27 January 2024.

Shared intention

This week, as we especially remember both past and current victims of genocide, we suggest holding the following intention:

We will that the leaders and influencers of governments that may have differences with one or more groups of people who live within their countries’ borders will be moved to recognise the essential humanity and right to freedom of expression of all peoples.

Please join us in holding this.
