This episode of the Fun Palace brings you into the world of Mia Scharphie.
Mia is a thoughtful and soulful designer constantly pushing towards the edge of impact design. Trained in landscape architecture, she now serves as a translator, researcher, and facilitator — working on women’s empowerment, racial equity, and place-based change. Since taking the dive into entrepreneurship, she’s started a workshop series for women creatives, founded a design consultancy, and cofounded a research collaborative that explores impact design business models.
Needless to say, Mia is doing a lot to advance the field of impact design. We met with Mia in her home in Cambridge to talk about her work, her vision, and some of her most recent reflections. We hope you enjoy it!
