Today I speak to Geoff McDonald. Geoff was previously the Global Vice-President of HR, Marketing, Communications, Sustainability at Unilever, and is now a global advocate, campaigner and consultant in addressing the stigma of mental ill-health in the workplace and elevating wellbeing to a strategic priority in the C suite.

He is a very much sought-after keynote speaker, who inspires and provokes organisations to put wellbeing at the centre of everything they do, with a reputation for energising and motivating audiences to take action in creating workplaces that enhance the lives of all employees.

What you’ll hear about:

  • The powerful emotions of love and hope
  • Being open to talking to friends and colleagues
  • The stigma of mental ill–health
  • Understanding anxiety and depression
  • How companies are supporting people with mental ill-health in the workplace
  • Reflect on your own relationship to mental-ill health
  • Start the conversation on mental-ill health in your team/company
  • Tell your story
  • Bring in an external catalyst to gain awareness and start the conversation
  • Move from the rationale to the story-telling
  • Understanding not everyone is a great story-teller
  • Get the right permissions before you share your story
  • What does asking for help mean?
