Today, we had the pleasure of speaking with Doug Evans, CFRE. Doug will be the keynote speaker at the Equity In Philanthropy Summit hosted from April 26-28th by The Harris Strategy Group and Impactful Changemakers. In this episodes, Doug discusses inequities in philanthropy, trends in giving, and the use of an ecological systems framework on philanthropy practices.
Doug Evans is Certified Fund Raising Executive currently serving as the Executive
Director of Development at Centre College in Danville, Kentucky. Doug holds both his
Bachelors and Masters degrees in Psychology from Marshall University where he
specialized in behavioral statistics. Today he regularly works to build transformational
relationships with alumni, parents and friends alongside his team of five senior major gift officers. A lifelong learning, he is always curious about how organizations build a robust, vibrant and diverse cultures of philanthropy. Primarily focusing on how we model data, expand equity in philanthropic education, and consider the use of an ecological systems framework to help us understand past, present and future philanthropic motivations and behaviors. When not working you can find him contributing to podcasts and blogs on the science of altruism, kayaking and hiking in the mountains of West Virginia, or watching documentaries with his two cats, Chiquitita and Trouper.
