ORIGINALLY RELEASED 27/02/23

This week is all about Bitcoin and one of the biggest threats to the integrity of the Bitcoin blockchain - the case of Tulip Trading (recently in the Court of Appeal), in which the Claimant (Craig Wright's trust), seeks to transfer his misappropriated Bitcoin without a private key, looking for the developers of the blockchain to do it for him.

It is worth considering whether what the Claimant says can be done at a technical level is possible and if so should its be done, and what effect it may have on the entire infrastructure of blockchain technology and the price of Bitcoin.

This week Matt speaks to Nick Smart, an associate director for blockchain intelligence at Crystal Blockchain Analytics, which provides software for investigators to review blockchains and key data top consider the movement of funds.

He's here to give his thoughts on the claim, from a technical perspective and consider what could happen if the Claimant were to win.

This episode features independent and unfettered thoughts on the facts rather than the law.
