Most of us start off doing things with the very best intentions, but unfortunately, not many of us maintain pure motives till the very end. Whether that's starting a business, cultivating a relationship, serving in ministry or whatever the case may be, our intentions will undoubtedly get contaminated along the way if we do not take the initiative to assess and guard against that.

While it is admirable and commendable for us to plunge into the deep simply because God said so, we must be equally as intentional about maintaining pure motives through the course of our journey. Subconsciously, if we are not careful, over time, we will honor the gift over the giver, and the benefits over the One who called us. Needless to say, this is something we must watch out for.

In today's episode, we discuss the need for us to consistently assess our 'why''s. In doing so, we see that the fine things in life are not bad to desire, but when the pursuit of them takes precedence over obedience, they may just have taken up the position of lord in our lives.

Primary Scripture: James 4:3
