In this special episode of "In Full Color," IVN Editor Shawn Griffiths and IVN Author Wes Messamore discuss breaking news out of Maine, where US House Rep. Bruce Poliquin has filed a federal lawsuit trying to stop the ranked choice voting count in his district. FairVote Law and Policy Director Drew Spencer joins the conversation to talk about this lawsuit, which relies on arguments that have already failed in court and only comes now that the incumbent is facing likely defeat, according to exit polls. Spencer also discusses a federal law FairVote is sponsoring called the Fair Representation Act. Advocates say the bill, which would completely transform congressional elections, will provide greater representation for more Americans. Drew explains how FairVote is the nation's leading advocate for ranked choice voting, and the Fair Representation Act. The bill would create multi-member districts that use ranked choice voting, and a nationwide nonpartisan redistricting plan to ensure fairer elections and better representation. If you have any comments, questions, or feedback, be sure to drop them in the comment and review section. We want to hear from you! Thanks for listening, and as always... stay independent!
