Craig and LaDonna are excited to welcome back to the Indigenous Faith podcast Dr. Vern Charette (Ojibwe). Brother Vern joined the Smiths in their international Indigenous Leader's Conference in August 2022, helping them to unpackage biblical truth on contextualization and syncretism which is now available as the updated Indigenous Faith Video Teaching Series on the tribalrescue.com website store! Brother Vern is a trusted theologian and text driven preacher who pastors the First Baptist Church in Coweta, OK. It's always a joy for the Smiths to visit with Brother Vern, and in these upcoming sessions, as they wrap up 2023, are proof that there's always some interesting conversations to be had that always center around biblical truth and its application to Indigenous followers of Christ. In the upcoming series of episodes, you will also be introduced to another "power couple for the gospel," Native evangelist, Emmitt and Belen McKenzie, who are dear friends of Dr. Charette and have a powerful evangelism ministry that has a global reach as well. They, too, will have opportunity to share their testimonies which give all glory to God for His amazing work in both their lives. In today's episode, the Smiths and brother Vern launch into some relevant topics including a recent Facebook post by Pastor Vern titled Syncretism in the Sanctuary , which came out of a recent sermon he preached to his congregation which is so in line with the whole focus of the Indigenous Faith focus of this podcast, Craig's book, and the new 2.0 video series. In future episodes, Dr. Charette will comment on the Smith's current study in the lives of the Kings of Israel and Judah, on current events in the Middle East, including the Israeli war with Hamas and Hezbollah and its impact on the soon return of Christ, and what true revival looks like in the Indigenous church context. There's a lot of good stuff coming in these closing weeks of 2023 in the upcoming episodes of Indigenous Faith and you won't want to miss a single one. In fact, let your friends know about these episodes featuring the Smiths and Dr. Vern Charette also! They'll be glad you did!
