In Episode 16 of "Innovation Activists: Designing Health Care's Future," host Dr. Reed Omary sits down with Dr. Kevin Johnson to discuss the role of informatics in health care innovation. Dr. Johnson is the Cornelius Vanderbilt Professor and Chair of the Department of Biomedical Informatics at Vanderbilt University Medical Center. Currently, he is in the Council of Councils for the National Institutes of Health, and also holds leadership positions with the National Library of Medicine, the National Academy of Medicine and the American Board of Pediatrics. His research interests relate to developing and encouraging the adoption of clinical transformation systems to improve patient safety and compliance. He has also developed computer-based documentation systems for point-of-care.
