IDP010 | Innovation Drivers with Eric Gales

Eric Gales is Country Manager for Amazon Web Services (AWS) Canada. With 30 years of technology industry experience, Eric brings a wealth of expertise, advising small, medium-sized and large businesses on how to transform their business with technology including the latest cloud and machine learning innovations. Eric infuses customer obsession in all AWS Canada operations including business development, sales, partner alliances, marketing, solutions architecture, customer support, and technical skills development.

Eric was instrumental in launching AWS’s first Cloud Region, in Montreal, in 2016, allowing customers to host data locally. Since then, Eric has played a pivotal role in helping Canadian businesses adapt and respond to Canada’s changing landscape.

Prior to joining AWS in October 2015, Eric held senior roles as VP and General Manager at VMware Canada, and as President of Microsoft Canada. Before coming to Canada, Eric was a General Manager at Compaq UK.

While a native of the UK, Eric loved Canada so much he became a citizen. He and his wife reside in Oakville with two teenage children. In Eric’s spare time he plays in a beer league hockey team, and has a private pilot’s license flying out of Burlington Airpark.
