Disney Parks has just announced major changes to one of the most popular characters in the Pirates of the Caribbean ride. No longer will the famous redhead be part of the attraction’s infamous bride auction. Now, she’ll instead have a new role, assisting with the Mercado auction by helping locals “unload” their valuables, according to Disney. New artwork shows what the revised scene will look like at Walt Disney World and Disneyland, now giving the redhead a gun. The famous line “We wants the redhead!” will presumably be removed too, as it will no longer make sense without the auction. Disneyland Paris will receive a similar scene sooner, along with the addition of Captain Barbossa along with the transformation of the Blue Lagoon Restaurant into Captain Jack’s, starting July 24th. The change in the United States parks will take place in 2018 during a a previously scheduled refurbishment.
