In this Intel Chip Chat audio podcast with Allyson Klein: Cloud to edge is much hyped as the next wave of digital transformation, and edge computing promises to remove many of the limitations of public and private cloud. But you need to have common, seamless frameworks to work at the edge, on premises, and in public cloud. Talal Alqinawi explains what Microsoft is doing to enable this and how enterprises can make cloud to edge part of their digital strategy.
He goes on to explain why the time is right for enterprise edge. IT doesn’t sit in one data center, and it’s not one type of application. It is a set of connected applications and activities that have to work together. Having recognized that, many businesses have interactive applications with their clients. They must service their businesses, their clients, and even their supply chains to become one connected community. This is the intelligent edge. Talal also offers practical steps enterprises can take to get started in their cloud to edge journey.
Talal Alqinawi is the Senior Director of Product Marketing for Microsoft Azure. He leads product management and marketing teams for advanced workloads in Microsoft Azure including Azure Stack, Azure Data Box, HPC, and SAP in Azure.
