Amy Isaman is an author, book & writing coach, and podcaster. Amy works with aspiring authors to support them in developing and clarifying their ideas, structuring and organizing them, breaking through creative blocks, and writing their books with regular feedback and accountability. She adores supporting her clients to write the books that their soul is calling them to write whether that’s fiction, memoir, or self-help. She does this through 1:1 book coaching, a monthly writing membership, retreats (when it’s safe), and her podcast, Dear Creativity, Let’s Write.

In our chat today, Amy talks about a number of things such as:

1) You don't have to go big - baby steps will get you where you're going

2) Create a community of thinking partners for yourself - people you trust who you can brainstorm with, get and give feedback, and ask questions. Don't be afraid to pay for this if you need to as you build a local network. Your current friends are probably not those people but there ARE local people who are also where you are. It might take some time to find them but go to local business meetups etc. to create that support for yourself.
3) Embrace the idea that launching a business is a spiritual journey of deep growth if you allow it to be. It can be terrifying but it's so worth it. Get a journal (and that local network) and get ready to GROW. Even if you never make a dime on that first (or second) venture, when you look back at it, you will absolutely find value in the experience.

We also reference Amy's first business - website design - that she used as a benchmark for the way she does her current book coaching. Check it out here: https://www.entwinewebdesign.com/
