Choosing your niche for your online business is step 1 in making money online: http://milesbeckler.com/my-simple-3-step-system-to-making-money-online/ This is part one of a two part series where I cover the theory behind niche selection and then show the specific tools and techniques I use to research possible niches before entering them. Once you complete this video you can find part two, where I show you exactly how to use the tools mentioned plus a third tool not mentioned, here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ygWYz3K27aA As an online business builder, finding your niche is probably the most important step in the early days. You need to find a niche that excites you and overlaps with what you are already good at so that you can have the excitement needed to build a long term business. Far too many people only choose niches because they think they will be profitable (this is what I did in my first online business) but when challenges present themselves, months or years down the line, if you are not motivated by internal excitement and passion, the odds of you overcoming those challenges go down. The general consensus is you need to find 'something you are passionate about' but this is only partially true. Yes, if you find a niche that you are passionate about, that is a great start, but what if you don't know what you are passionate about? This is where focusing on a long term problem or desire you have can be a great niche selection. Are you overweight and committed to losing weight? Then following your journey is a great option... And once you hit your desired weight you can focus on ongoing wellness, strength training and more. Are you learning to play an instrument? Woodworking? Quilting? These can be great niches if they are something you will be practicing and playing with for years to come! Also, your niche selection can be as simple as looking at what you have developed expertise in, over the last 10 - 20 years in your career. Have you been a customer service manager for 10 years? Have you been a savvy financial planner? Are you a great plumber who can teach people to save hundreds by doing simple jobs on their own? All of these are valid ideas... What you need to do is find where your past knowledge, your passion and your excitement overlap so you can then go research if these are potentially viable niches to market to... And I show you the exact two tools you can use for free to research your niches deeper to see if they are fiscally viable. In addition to choosing your niche, you need to create your customer avatar, too... The video to learn how to do that is here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SNEOj_z8b0M Subscribe to the channel here: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC7RZRFCrN4XKoMsy5MgJKrg If you want to share this video, use this link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AIZxKpnesTw
