Gregory J. Gerling serves as Professor of Systems and Information Engineering at the University of Virginia, with courtesy appointments in Mechanical and Biomedical Engineering. His research interests include haptics, computational neuroscience, biomechanics, and human-computer interaction. He is currently the Chair of the IEEE Technical Committee on Haptics and an Associate Editor for IEEE Transactions on Haptics. He was previously the Co-Chair of the IEEE Haptics Symposium, Associate Editor-in-Chief of the IEEE World Haptics Conference. He earned the Ph.D. degree from the Department of Mechanical and Industrial Engineering, The University of Iowa, USA.
