Clare Cumberlidge is founding director of Thirteen Ways, an agency which combines curatorial and communications expertise to deliver high profile campaigns and cultural programmes. Clare has a background as a curator, writer, commissioner and cultural strategist and has delivered pioneering exhibitions, commissions, engagement programmes, cultural strategies and campaigns for Tate, V&A, National Science Museum, Arts Council England, Southbank Centre, Argent Kings Cross, Gongju City, BBC and Design for London. She is published on creativity, design, audience development and digital culture – Build Your Own; Tools for Sharing (Crafts Council), Design & Landscape for People (Thames & Hudson), Did Someone Say Participate (MIT press), The Good Life (Van Alen Institute), Slides as a Form of Public Transportation (Carsten Holler and Tate Gallery), Society by Bridget Smith (Steidl). At the British Council’s invitation she curated their contribution to Lisbon Design Biennial and created ‘Happiness for Daily Life’, a functioning café in South Korea. Clare is interested in developing new models through which art and artists impact on everyday life.

The book she is currently reading is A Field Guide to Getting Lost by Rebecca Solnit.
