Jonathan Guyer is Cairo-based writer. He is a fellow of the Institute of Current World Affairs in Washington, DC, and contributing editor of the Cairo Review of Global Affairs. From 2012 to 2013, he served as a Fulbright fellow researching political cartoons in Egypt. A regular contributor to Public Radio International, he has written for The Guardian, Guernica, Harper’s, The Los Angeles Review of Books, New York magazine, The New Yorker, New York Review of Books, Nieman Reports, and The Paris Review. His book chapter “Translating Egypt’s Political Cartoons,” appears in Translating Dissent: Voices from and with the Egyptian Revolution (ed. Mona Baker, Routledge, 2016).
