Patrick Steenberge grew up dreaming of playing football for the Pittsburg Steelers. He was the starting QB with Notre Dame and was even invited to attend the Chiefs training camp with the the legendary Len Dawson. Injury would cruelly curtail his career, but after a period figuring out what was next he launched Global football and has helped to bring American Football teams to eight different nations on six continents. He joins Colum Cronin to discuss his footballing journey, shares the story of how he got Steelers owner and then Ambassador Dan Rooney to flip the coin before a game in Donnybrook and looks ahead to Global Ireland Football Tournament (GIFT) in Dublin in from August this year. The Community School of Naples will take on the Junior Irish Wolfhounds. Seton Hall Preparatory School will go head-to-head against reigning Tennessee State Champion Baylor School. And the NFL Academy UK will face the Bonner & Prendie Friars of Philadelphia. Games will take place in the Energia Park Stadium
